The Hong Kong Monetary Authority announced the results of the residential mortgage survey for July 2025. The number of mortgage applications in July increased month-on-month by 4.9% to 9,005. Mortgage loans approved in July increased by 11.2% compared with June to HK$30.6 billion. Among these, mortgage loans financing primary market transactions increased by 16.4% to HK$10.8 billion and those financing secondary market transactions increased by 10.5% to HK$16.6 billion. Mortgage loans for refinancing decreased by 0.2% to HK$3.2 billion.
